The ears are erect and the tail is curled over the back.

The Aussiepom breed was created by crossing an Australian Shepherd with a Pomeranian. The resulting offspring was a small to medium sized dog with a thick, double coat. The coat is typically black, blue, or red with white markings. The Aussiepom has a wedge-shaped head and almond-shaped eyes. The ears are erect and the tail is curled over the back.

The Aussiepom breed almost became extinct in the early 2000s due to lack of interest from breeders and owners. However, the breed has experienced a resurgence in popularity in recent years due to its unique appearance and friendly personality.

The ancestry of the Aussiepom dog can be traced back to Australia and Germany. The Australian Shepherd was originally bred in Australia for herding purposes while the Pomeranian was bred in Germany as a companion dog. In 2001, two American Kennel Club registered Australian Shepherds were bred together in an attempt to create a smaller version of the popular herding dog breed. From this litter, one of the puppies was sent to live with a family who owned Pomeranians. This puppy was then bred with one of their Pomeranians and thus, the Aussiepom breed was born!

The Aussiepom dog is recognized as an official breed by several kennel clubs including the American Kennel Club (AKC), United Kennel Club (UKC), Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC), New Zealand Kennel Club (NZKC), Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), and International All Breed Canine Association (IABCA).
