They have long ears that hang down close to their face and a long tail that curves slightly at the end. Their eyes are usually brown or hazel in color and they have a strong muzzle with a black nose.

Lifespan, Size, Weight & Colors: The average lifespan of the Redbone Coonhound is between 10-12 years. They typically weigh between 45-70 pounds when fully grown and stand at about 21-27 inches tall at the shoulder. As far as colors go, they come in shades of red ranging from light to dark mahogany with white markings on their chest or feet being common as well.

Personality: The Redbone Coonhound is an intelligent breed with an outgoing personality that loves to be around people and other animals alike. They are loyal companions who will always be by your side no matter what you’re doing or where you’re going! They also have great hunting instincts which make them excellent tracking dogs for hunters or search & rescue teams alike!

Friendliness: When it comes to friendliness towards other dogs, children, and other animals; the Redbone Coonhound does very well! They love being around people so much that they often become overly attached if not given enough attention or exercise regularly! This makes them great companions for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking or camping trips since these dogs will always be up for adventure!

Health: In terms of health; the Redbone Coonhound does not suffer from any major health issues but like all breeds; it’s important to keep up with regular vet visits just in case something arises later down the line! Some minor issues this breed may experience include hip dysplasia (which can lead to arthritis) as well as ear infections due to their large ears trapping moisture inside them more easily than smaller breeds would experience.

Adaptability Level & Benefits: When it comes adaptability level; this breed does very well both indoors and outdoors making them perfect for those who live in apartments/condos/townhouses etc., but also those who own larger homes with yards too! As far as benefits go; these dogs make wonderful family pets due to their loyalty & intelligence combined with their friendly nature towards both humans & animals alike – plus they look absolutely stunning too which never hurts either ;)

History

The Redbone Coonhound is a breed of dog that was once on the brink of extinction. The breed is now enjoying a resurgence in popularity, thanks to the efforts of dedicated breeders.

The Redbone Coonhound gets its name from its reddish-brown coat. The breed is descended from the American Foxhound and the English Coonhound. In the early 1800s, red-coated hounds were popular in the southern United States. These dogs were used for hunting raccoons and other small game.

The American Civil War nearly wiped out the Redbone Coonhound breed. Many of the dogs were killed in battle, and those that survived were often sold or given away as pets. By the end of the war, there were very few Redbone Coonhounds left in existence.

In an effort to save the breed, a few dedicated breeders began to crossbreed Redbone Coonhounds with other hound breeds, such as Bloodhounds and Black and Tan Coonhounds. This helped to create a more diverse gene pool and eventually led to the creation of today’s Redbone Coonhound.

The Redbone Coonhound was officially recognized as a breed by the United Kennel Club in 1902. In 2010, the American Kennel Club also recognized the breed. Today, there are an estimated 10,000 Redbone Coonhounds worldwide.
