History

The Shiloh Shepherd is a rare breed of dog that was developed in the 1970s by a woman named Tina Barber. The breed was created by crossing German Shepherds with various other breeds, including the Anatolian Shepherd, the Great Pyrenees, and the Akbash. The resulting dogs were larger and had more wolf-like features than traditional German Shepherds.

The Shiloh Shepherd quickly gained popularity due to its unique appearance and loyal personality. However, the breed nearly became extinct in the early 2000s when Barber stopped breeding them. Fortunately, a few dedicated breeders kept the Shiloh Shepherd alive and slowly began to rebuild the population.

Today, there are only a few hundred Shiloh Shepherds in existence. However, thanks to the efforts of dedicated breeders, this number is slowly but steadily increasing. The Shiloh Shepherd is now recognized as a rare breed by several kennel clubs and registries around the world.
