The tiny calico cat, with orange, black, and white fur, tried to get the imam's attention by pawing at his leg, but the imam paid it no heed, per a video posted to the imam's Facebook page on Tuesday. Then the cat jumped straight onto the imam's belly and climbed up his shoulders. The Imam did not flinch but lightly petted the cat while continuing with his prayers. The cat then brushed the imam's cheek with its tail and licked his face before jumping off him.

The imam remained unfazed, gently petting the feline while continuing with his prayers. He showed remarkable composure and kept his focus on the prayer, despite the unexpected interruption. His calm demeanor and acceptance of the cat's presence were praised by many viewers.

The video was shared by BBC on Thursday, and it quickly received thousands of likes. “And other than stroking the cat a little, he goes on as if nothing is happening as the cat crawls on him, I assume with claws out. That is some composure,” a user wrote. A second described an interesting story related to the incident, "There used to be a companion of the Prophet nicknamed Abu Hurayrah, translated as Father of the Kitten. He would sit with many cats and kittens, and at one point a cat was sleeping on his robe, so he cut it in half so as not to disturb that cat.”
