Sue Smith · Asked a question
Dear dog expert, I have a question. While walking our dogs, should we sanitize their paws to be safe from germs?
First of all it depends on where you live and what the environment is like.
If you think your dog has gotten into or is around something that could cause harm, by all means clean your dog's paws and use a disinfectant… but this is not necessary if your dog plays in your yard all the time.
If you take your dog for a walk in an area where you feel that some chemicals or other substances may be getting into your home with your dog's paws 🐾 sticking to it your health may be affected. You must clean the paws of the dog.
The best way to clean a dog's paws is to use dog wipes, which will quickly remove any dirt or chemicals on the paws, Or you can clean the claws by soaking wipes in warm water 🌊.
